Its most significant feature is the use of a gallium arsenide photocathode and an ion barrier film, resulting in performance far exceeding that of the previous two generations.

The Image Intensifier Tube is the core component of a night vision device, responsible for converting weak ambient light (such as starlight and moonlight) into a clearly visible image. Its working principle is to convert light signals into electrons via a photocathode. After amplification by a microchannel plate (MCP), the signals are reconverted into an enhanced optical image on a phosphor screen, enabling observation in low-light environments.
